Trustees write, "We, members of the MCPS Board of Trustees, voted unanimously to place these levies on the ballot, because, after exploring other options, we concluded that these levies are necessary to keep our schools running effectively and securely."
The person raising the complaint argued that Pride flags promoted an ideology and asked the board of trustees to take action by removing flags from the school.
Micah Hill writes, "This new Safety Levy would be used to improve our school campus security systems, make upgrades to safety technology and equipment; and pay for school resource officers, school counselors, behavioral interventionists and others who provide safety support for their school building or for the entire District."
Missoula County Public Schools on Wednesday morning said it will increase the presence of law enforcement at schools after receiving a threat the night before.
Students at the four schools will have on-site access to mental health services, substance use disorder services, and support to address health-related social needs, including access to food and housing, or to sign up for health insurance.
