Ceiling in The Floor tour comes to UM
A theater and dance piece exploring mental illness, suicide, art and friendship will play at the University of Montana on Tuesday, followed by a panel discussion.
Lineage Dance Company from Pasadena, California, will perform “Ceiling In The Floor,” a deeply personal story of two artists whose relationship deteriorated as the result of a quiet struggle with depression and suicide.
The production explores the darkness of mental illness and unveils an inspired, true story about two lives bound together through music and dance.
A panel discussion will follow the production. It will focus on Montana’s suicide crisis, the stigma of mental illness, and the use of art to help save lives.
Proceeds benefit Project Tomorrow Montana, whose mission is to reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts through prevention and education.
The event will take place on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. In the Open Space Theater in the PARTV building. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets for students, seniors and veterans are $12.
