University of Montana Interim Provost Beverly Edmond recently published a book titled “Trailblazing African American Public Administrators” with co-author Ron Finnell.

Both authors have received the Trailblazer Award from the Conference of Minority Public Administrators, a branch of the American Society for Public Administration.

“We feel privileged to have been able to recognize the group of individuals profiled in our book,” Edmond said. “These are individuals who worked extremely hard to improve diversity and inclusiveness in the field of public administration and the profession is better off as a result of their efforts.”

Edmond and Finnell accepted their award in Atlanta during the organization’s annual conference in March. They also spoke during a luncheon.
