Acoustic Syndicate and Leftover Salmon closed out the two day River City Roots Festival in downtown Missoula on Saturday.

The event marked the 14th year for the free festival, produced annually by the Missoula Downtown Association.

The festival, which draws thousands of people over the weekend, is well-time to welcome University of Montana students back to class. All ages packed the two blocks of Main Street to enjoy the music as the sun set to the west.

It's no accident that Missoula was named among the nation's best cities for arts and culture in the Arts Vibrancy Index Report, regardless of size.
