Montana will play as the No. 1 seed in next week's Big Sky Championships in Boise, Idaho. The Grizzlies' quarterfinals game will take place at 12 p.m. on Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's contest between Northern Arizona and Sacramento State.

For as rough as February and early March were for the Montana women's basketball team, the Lady Griz will take a two-game winning streak into next week's Big Sky Conference tournament in Boise, Idaho. Montana got 18 points from Jace Henderson on Senior Day and 18 from McKenzie Johnston to outlast Sacramento State 75-67 on Saturday afternoon at Dahlberg Arena in Missoula.

It was a win for the Lady Griz on Thursday night at Dahlberg Arena over Portland State. Only time will tell if it turns into something more than just Montana's 13th victory of the season. Jace Henderson had a monster double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds and Montana snapped a four-game losing streak with a 73-70 overtime victory over the Vikings

There was no way Michael Oguine was going to lose his final game inside Dahlberg Arena. It didn't come easy, but despite trailing for more than 27 minutes on Monday, the senior willed Montana to a 66-64 victory over Northern Arizona.

On a night that was about celebrating the senior class, it was fitting that the seniors rose up and lifted Montana to a 70-54 victory over Southern Utah. Michael Oguine nearly recorded a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds, in addition to two steals and two blocked shots...

Montana earned yet another season sweep over rival Montana State on Saturday night, leading from start to finish in front of a sold-out Dahlberg Arena crowd for the 89-83 win. The victory gets the Grizzlies to 20 wins on the season and one step closer to another Big Sky Conference regular-season title.

Montana's and Idaho State's coaching staffs will both be able to look back on opportunities missed after the Lady Griz and Bengals played a game that went down to the wire on Saturday afternoon at Dahlberg Arena. But Montana's will have one less thing to fret about.

Montana closed the first half on an 18-3 run, making 10 consecutive shots at one point, to overcome an early deficit on the road. Idaho State closed to within three points in the second half, but Montana responded with a 16-1 run to create the needed separation in an 80-68 victory.

Montana and Weber State, the top two programs in the history of the Big Sky Conference, have played each other for more than five decades, since the series began during the 1962-63 season. For the first 55 years, the two teams met at least twice – once in Missoula and once in Weber – with a third matchup in the Big Sky Championship also occurring many seasons.

The University of Montana Department of Athletics, along with its colleagues in the Sociology Department and the UM Faculty Senate, are mourning the loss of beloved Faculty Athletics Representative Dusten Hollist, who passed away on Sunday, February 10, after a brief, but valiant, battle with cancer.
