Heavy metal bassist Jason Newsted is looking to sell his Sula ranch, and for a cool $4.9 million, it could be yours.

Newsted, best known as the longtime bassist for Metallica before playing with Ozzy Osbourne, listed his Sula home with Hall and Hall this month. The home sits east of Highway 93 near the Montana-Idaho border and Lost Trail Powder Mountain.

Newsted has owned the ridge-top property for a decade, according to the LA Times.

The listing describes the home as a “gem” situated “amidst an ocean of public lands” on 545 acres. At more than 5,800 square feet, the custom timber-frame residence offers three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

“The chef’s kitchen includes Thermador and other premium stainless appliances, has a walk-in pantry and a dumb waiter to deliver your groceries,” the listing states. “In rock star style, one entire wall is an intricate ‘sunburst’ design handcrafted from exotic woods direct from the Gibson guitar factory.”

Bill McDavid of Hall & Hall is the listing agent.

After the death of Metallica bassist Cliff Burton in 1986, the band launched a search for a new member and auditioned over 50 musicians. Newsted landed the job and held it until his departure in 2001.

While with Metallica, he contributed to the albums “…And Justice for All,” “Metallica,” “Load” and “Reload.” He went on to play with Ozzy Osbourne and Voivod. From 2012 to 2014 he also played in his self-titled band Newsted.

In celebrity fashion, the listing of Newsted’s Montana home has received press in the Daily Mail, People magazine, the LA Times and the Wall Street Journal.

“A towering stone Rumsford-style fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room and is only one of several,” the listing notes. “Exquisite woodwork is found throughout.”
