First Montana Bank on Monday named Adam McQuiston as its new CEO.

McQuiston, a graduate of the University of Montana, replaces Joe Kesler who retired after 40 years in the banking industry.

“I'm very proud to take over as CEO for such a fine organization,” McQuiston said in a statement. “First Montana Bank remains committed to our roots as a true community bank, and we look forward to many more years of service to our communities.”

McQuiston has logged more than 20 years in the banking industry. During his time at First Montana Bank, he has served as a commercial loan officer, the Missoula market president, the senior lender and executive vice president.

The bank was founded in Libby in 1913 and now claims nine branches throughout western Montana. The downtown Missoula branch currently serves as the corporate headquarters.
