Tech company ClassPass furloughs more than half of Missoula employees

A national tech company was forced to furlough a little over half of their current Missoula office employees partially due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

ClassPass is a subscription-based company that allows users to take fitness classes from local gyms and studios.

The company said that their revenue had decreased more than 95% due to the virus and reducing their headcount was the only way they could stay operational.

In Missoula, 80 employees will keep their jobs while 90 have been furloughed. But the company said Missoula is still an important location to the company and is home to “our biggest office and also home to our CEO."

ClassPass hopes that no additional layoffs will be needed and stated that before the pandemic started they were hoping to add another 100 employees to their workforce.
