Community Medical Center on Monday named Air Force veteran and long-time healthcare executive Bob Gomes as the hospital's new CEO

Gomes most recently served as CEO of the Canyon Vista Medical Center in Arizona. Before that, he held a number of executive roles at healthcare facilities in Oregon and Montana.

He also was assigned as a healthcare consultant for the office of the Air Force Surgeon General, directing over 80 hospitals and clinics worldwide.

“Bob has all of the ideal qualities and experience we are looking for in a new leader for Community Medical Center,” said Dr. Tim Richards, chairman of the hospital’s board of trustees. “His commitment to building relationships, fostering growth and prioritizing quality and patient safety will be a tremendous benefit to our region.”

Gomes earned a Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

“This hospital is a vital asset to this community, and I am looking forward to working alongside this dedicated team as we embark on the next chapter together and continue to seek new and greater ways to advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier,” said Gomes
