Ag-Tech business Sostena Corp. announces plans to locate in Missoula

An agricultural business rooted in technology on Monday announced its plans to open a new location in Missoula and bring an estimated 25 to 50 jobs to the city.

Sostena Corp., which provides AgTech solutions, plans to open the new location in November. It will offer customers, including small family farmers, the tech solutions needed to help growers maximize their efficiency while reducing costs.

“Montana provides the perfect business climate for innovators like Sostena to thrive,” spokesperson Tim Colin said in a statement. “The support I have received from state and local government has been outstanding, especially in areas of business development.”

Colin said the new Missoula location is projected to create nearly 25-50 high quality jobs throughout Montana, including eastern Montana, over five years with an average salary range of $50,000 to $70,000.

Utilizing it’s proprietary, cloud-based agriculture supply planning platform ProducePlan, the company will begin working with the Family Farmers Network of Montana in 2022.

Colin said the Sostena will help growers create new supply plans and enhance their supply chains.

“We believe that the Family Farmers of Montana can never be left behind and must be prepared to offer retailers and other key supply chain buyers similar offerings as to their larger corporate counterparts, Colin said. “Sostena is thrilled to be a part of the Live, Work, Play culture of Missoula and all the rest of Montana.”

Sostena's announcement came through the Missoula Chamber of Commerce and noted Gov. Greg Gianforte's Montana Comeback Plan.

“We’re thrilled Sostena Corporation recognizes our superior quality of life in Montana which inspires employees to do their best work,” Gianforte said in the announcement. “We look forward to welcoming them to the Treasure State this year to contribute to our growing agri-tech industry.”
