A new hotel focused on extended stays held its grand opening on Wednesday, bringing an additional 122 rooms to the growing Missoula market.

WoodSpring Suites, located off North Reserve Street on Stockyard Road, is the first new hotel to open its doors in Missoula this year.

Barb Neilan, executive director of Destination Missoula, called the new hotel a welcome addition to the city's tourism industry.

“Accommodations to meet the diverse needs of all types of Missoula visitors, whether here for business or pleasure, are becoming increasingly important,” Neilan said in a statement. “We're happy to welcome WoodSpring Suites Hotel Missoula’s beautiful new property to our community.”

The market has supported the construction and opening of a new hotel in Missoula nearly each of the past few years. Last year, the AC Hotel in downtown Missoula opened its doors, just three years after the Mercantile opened next door.

WoodSpring Suites is the latest, which includes 122 suites that offer in-room kitchens and on-site laundry. The property caters to business travelers and visitors looking for extended trips.

“We are so excited to become a part of this beautiful community and look forward to serving its residents and visitors for many years to come,” said Chris Young, the corporate director of sales for WoodSpring Suites.
