SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Examines, investigates, and processes health insurance claims in accordance with applicable plan provisions, state, and federal law (including HIPAA), and other rules and regulations. Coordinates benefits with other insurance plans. Receives paper claims and retrieves electronic claims; prepares, batches, audits, and releases claims for payment. Adjusts claims correcting billing and payment errors. Executes complex discounting agreements for plan members involving multiple health services providers. Responsible for claims payments, lost check replacements and accounts payables payments utilizing ABF web based electronic file transfers. Responsible for making and posting bank transfers to cover payments. Responsible for monthly reporting; running and balancing reports, updating records. Authorizes in-patient hospital stays utilizing Trizetto Claims Software. Provides customer service and answers inquiries in person, by phone and electronically. Provides information to clarify plan benefits. Notifies terminating plan members of COBRA requirements. Processes detailed enrollment/termination information; sets up and updates participants’ records. Maintains all records related to medical, dental, vision, life, supplemental life, long term disability and supplemental disability benefits.
