(KPAX) Nobody appears to have been hurt after a downtown Missoula building collapsed on Monday afternoon.

The building on 601 Woody Street, the former home of K&C Meats, was in the process of remodeling when the front-facing wall toward Alder Street appeared to be bowing out and eventually caved in, according to Bill Porteous, Lead Building Instructor for Missoula.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.

Crews are now knocking down any other parts of the structure that appear to be compromised.

The engineer will check surrounding buildings to make sure other structures are not compromised as well, although Porteous acknowledged that the surrounding buildings appear to be newer.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
