We know you’re itching to start filling in the blanks on that oh-so-clean 2018 calendar, and we’ve got just the thing.

The Missoula City Council has set its meeting schedule for the year ahead, generally opting to meet the first four Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers.

The council does not meet on the fifth Monday, when a month’s calendar provides one.

As with anything, of course, there are exceptions.

Dates in 2018 when City Council meetings will not be held include:

January 1, 2018: New Year’s Day

January 15: Martin Luther King Day

January 29: Fifth Monday

February 19: President’s Day

April 30: Fifth Monday

May 28: Memorial Day

July 9: Optional. City clerk Marty Rehbein explained that Independence Day falls on a Wednesday when City Council committee meetings are typically held, so council members might opt not to meet on the following Monday.

July 30: Fifth Monday

September 3: Labor Day

October 8: Indigenous People’s Day

October 29: Fifth Monday

November 12: Veterans Day

December 24: Optional. Christmas Eve.

December 31: Fifth Monday.
