The campaign for Rob Quist on Wednesday changed the location of a rally planned with Sen. Bernie Sanders to the Adams Center at the University of Montana, saying interest in the event had outgrown the former venue.

The event, slated for Saturday, had been scheduled for The Wilma in downtown Missoula.

Sanders, a recent Democratic candidate for president who rallied in Missoula in May of last year, will join Quist – a political newcomer – in rallies planned for Missoula, Butte, Billings and Bozeman.

“I’m excited to have Bernie Sanders come to Big Sky Country to witness the grassroots support behind our campaign and share the message that we need more elected leaders fighting for working class families, instead of millionaires, corporations and special interests,” Quist said in an earlier press release.

Sanders won Montana’s 2016 Democratic presidential primary vote, defeating Hillary Clinton with a populist message. Quist is looking to tap into ahead of this month’s special election, where he'll face Republican Greg Gianforte in the race for Montana's only seat in Congress.

Sanders will join Quist at Adams Center on Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to noon. Doors open at noon. Those interested in attending can RSVP by texting BERNIE to 30644, or by following this link.
