For the past couple of decades, I have been active in the civic affairs of lower Grant Creek, part of Missoula’s Ward 2.

During that time, we have never been better served than by council member Jordan Hess, who is seeking reelection.

A few of the things I look for in a city council member are responsiveness, competence, and effectiveness.

Jordan has always gotten back quickly when I have expressed a concern. He hasn’t always had an answer, but he’s always tried to find an answer from city staff.

Jordan’s competence has been recognized by his role as chairman of the city’s Land Use and Planning Committee. This committee is critical given Missoula’s rapid growth, particularly in the area west of Grant Creek.

Finally, Jordan works with his fellow council members to get key measures passed, which is to say, he’s effective.

I care deeply about the issues of conservation and appreciate Jordan’s support for the city’s zero-waste and clean energy goals as well as the city’s open space program. Jordan’s record has earned him the endorsement of Montana Conservation Voters.

Jordan Hess has earned my vote for his reelection.
