Two new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Gallatin County; state now to 10

Two more individuals tested positive for COVID-19 in Montana on Wednesday, bringing the state's number of confirmed cases to 10, Gov. Steve Bullock said.

The tests were confirmed on Wednesday morning and included two Gallatin County males in their 20s. More than 200 tests were sent to the state lab on Tuesday and the results should be available later in the day.

The governor's office said all patients will be isolated or quarantined, and those who came into close contact with them will be monitored for 14 days for fever and respiratory symptoms under CDC guidelines.

State and local health officials will trace the patients' case history to learn more about their exposure risk and travel history, and to identify anyone who may have been infected through close contact.

According to the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, 509 individuals have been tested for COVID-19 thus far. On Tuesday, Bullock said 204 tests were sent to the state lab and another 1,000 test kits arrived in the state from the CDC.

So far, positive tests have turned up in Missoula, Gallatin, Silver-Bow, Broadwater and Yellowstone counties.
