In the spring of 2016, 10 Montana football players with NFL aspirations gathered in the weight room at the Adams Center and put themselves through some of the most demanding physical testing of their lives while scouts from professional organizations in the US and Canada looked on.

Tyrone Holmes, the 2016 STATS FCS Defensive Player of the Year, was one of them, impressing scouts by knocking out 28 reps on the 225-pound bench press. Thanks in part to that strong performance at Pro Day, Holmes would later be picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the NFL Draft with the 181st pick.

Now a new crop of former Grizzlies is set to make their impressions on pro scouts from across North America as Montana gets set to host its annual Pro Day on Monday, March 13, 2017.

Former Grizzlies signed up to participate in this year's event include defensive ends Caleb Kidderand Ryan Johnson, cornerbacks JR Nelson and TJ Reynard, running backs John Nguyen and Joey Counts, offensive lineman Jackson Thiebes, quarterback Brady Gustafson and safety Yamen Sanders.

Pro Day testing gets underway at 10 a.m. in the Adams Center with weigh-ins and measurements before moving into the weight room for vertical and broad jump tests, and the 225-pound bench press.

Testing then moves into Washington-Grizzly Stadium for the speed and agility portion of Pro Day starting at roughly 11 a.m. and lasting until roughly 1 p.m.

Testing held in Washington-Grizzly Stadium is open to the public, pending weather. The south gate of the stadium will be open unless snow forces a closure.

Fans are restricted from viewing the indoor portions of pro day and are restricted from accessing the field at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Parking passes are available from the UM Police Department.

Pro Day will be held in conjunction with the Grizzlies' first outdoor practice of the spring season, also scheduled or March 13. The Griz will hold two scrimmages this spring on April 7 and 14 before concluding the season with the annual spring game in Butte on April 22, sponsored Northwestern Mutual.

Montana opens the 2017 season on September 2, hosting Valparaiso in Missoula, before taking on FBS powerhouse Washington in Seattle on Sept. 9.

Results, video and interviews will be available at GoGriz.com and on twitter @UMGRIZZLIES_FB.
