Montana volleyball: Hurricane Harvey prompts cancellation of Griz season-opener

With Hurricane Harvey bearing down on Texas’s Gulf Coast, the Prairie View A&M volleyball team has opted not to travel to North Texas for the Mean Green’s season-opening tournament.

Montana was scheduled to face Prairie View A&M on Friday evening.

The Grizzlies will now be without a match on Friday. Montana will face Tulsa at 11:30 a.m. (MT) and North Texas at 6 p.m. (MT) on Saturday.

Prairie View A&M is located 30 miles inland from Houston. The storm is expected to bring rainfall between 10 and 20 inches to the area, with flash flooding and winds up to 115 miles per hour.
