Montana’s Department of Environmental Quality is seeking public input on how state agencies collect and analyze greenhouse gas emissions during environmental reviews.
Montana is set to receive $50 million in grant funding that will go toward a forestry and agricultural project that would reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 15 million metric tons through 2050.
The bill would prevent the state from considering greenhouse gas emissions or their potential impacts on climate change when doing an environmental review on a proposed project.
