Missoula Food Bank

The United Way of Missoula County on Tuesday awarded a $10,000 emergency grant to the Missoula Food Bank and Community Center to help meet the surge in demand resulting from the suspension of federal SNAP benefits.

Amy Allison and Kat Cowley write, "Missoula Food Bank & Community Center and the UM Food Pantry are working to ensure that all students, no matter their age, can focus on learning instead of worrying about what's on their plate."

Seth Bodnar and Amy Allison Thompson write, "Unlike what happens on the field though, the real winners of the competition are the community members who benefit from the food and financial support collected through this effort."
