A number of parks and trails tucked away in subdivisions across the Missoula region are slated for improvements this year, including sport courts and tree planting.

Residents in a growing Northside neighborhood will gain a new park under an agreement approved Monday night to allocate funding from the Open Space Bond to acquire the property.

The New Meadows trail system will serve as a one-half mile loop in a new 8-acre park off Mullan Road.
