Utah Gov. Spencer Cox is among a wave of Republican governors across the country who have declared June something other than Pride Month, stepping away from what was a common recognition nationally since 1999.

The Idaho Senate on Tuesday widely passed a bill that would fine local and state governments for flying flags that aren’t on the Legislature’s pre-approved list.

In a 4-1 vote, the Bozeman City Commission adopted the Pride flag and its variants as the town’s city flag last week during a meeting on July 15, joining Missoula in adopting the symbol as an official flag.

Gov. Greg Gianforte offered criticism following the City of Missoula's decision to approve a resolution that designates the Pride flag as an official city flag.

The Missoula City Council on Monday night adopted the Pride flag as the official flag of the city, saying it sends a message of inclusivity and pushes back against “bullying” state legislation that regulates the flying of flags and banners.

The law effectively bans the flying of Pride flags and other LGBTQ flags from being flown at schools or government buildings.

Bills in more than a dozen states would prohibit the flags at city halls, schools and state buildings.

The bill aimed to allow anyone who attended a drag show to sue the performer or promoter up to three years after the performance.
