Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife staff on Saturday found quagga mussels on a motorboat coming from Lake Havasu, Arizona, during a boat inspection in Ashland.

State officials have not found any viable quagga mussels since the state administered the most recent copper-based treatment in the Snake River near Twin Falls this fall.

As crews spread a copper chemical on the Snake River, scientists monitor water samples in labs.

Any unplanned expenses could put additional pressure on the state budget being hampered by revenue shortfalls.
