Missoula Mayor Jordan Hess on Monday proclaimed the week of Oct. 24 “Mae Nan Robinson Ellingson week” in recognition for her contributions to Missoula and the state.

Commissioners approved an agreement with the Montana Department of Transportation to build a shared-use path and bus stop at the Sha-Ron Fishing Access site near East Missoula.

The debate over a 150-year-old wagon road that has been “lost” for more than a century resurfaced this week as Missoula County moves closer to considering whether it will vacate the alleged road once and for all or reinvent it to allow public access across private land to the Bitterroot River.
