Macy’s store in Helena closing for good; employees eligible for severence

(KPAX) After 19 years in Helena, Macy’s will be closing.

Emily Workman, a Macy’s spokesperson, confirmed via email that the Helena Macy’s store on North Montana Avenue will be closing its doors.

A clearance sale will begin sometime this month and run for 8 to 12 weeks.

“Macy’s previously shared this information with our valued colleagues,” Workman said. “Regular, non-seasonal colleagues will be eligible for severance, including outplacement resources. There are approximately 50 colleagues at this location.”

The Bozeman location is unaffected by the closure of the Helena store.

Additional information will be shared during Macy’s Investor Day on Feb. 5.
