As Montana starts looking ahead to the winter forecast, October is the time when we can officially start praying for snow.

Join the Fun: The Annual Pray for Snow Party

The annual Pray for Snow Party and Fundraiser is coming up, and it is a great way to get into the winter mindset while supporting an organization that does incredibly important work here in Western Montana.

The event benefits the West Central Montana Avalanche Center, which plays an integral role in keeping people safe when they're out in the mountains and backcountry during the winter.

Let's face it, avalanche danger is a very real part of winter in Montana. The West Central Montana Avalanche Center works to provide trusted avalanche forecasts, education, and awareness to help people make safer decisions when they're out enjoying the backcountry.

A Winter Gathering: What to Expect at the Fundraiser

We'll have to wait and see exactly what kind of winter we're going to get, but the mountains will eventually start filling with snow. This party is a chance to get together, have some fun, and start getting ready for another Montana winter.

The Pray for Snow Party and Fundraiser is happening Friday, October 2, at Caras Park in downtown Missoula from 5-10 p.m.

Festivities and Fun: Activities to Look Forward To

There will be live music, games and activities, food trucks, a Big Sky Brewing bar, raffle prizes, an online silent auction, and fire pits.
