Right or wrong, people in our country and others view the president of the United States as a symbol of the nation and our values.
George Washington was admired around the world, even by the nation he defeated.
Abraham Lincoln was our greatest president, though he was assassinated just six weeks into his second term.
FDR saved poor people from starvation and helped pull the country out of the Great Depression, then presided over victory in the worst war in the history of the world, with Ike in charge of the Allied armies.
Kennedy made the country feel young again.
LBJ showed that even a Southerner knew that government-backed racist terror had to stop.
Nixon showed us the seamy side of our politics, which he epitomized but did not create.
Jimmy Carter showed that impeccable morals do not a great president make.
Obama gave hope to millions.
Each of these men conveyed an image of our country to people around the world.
And Trump? Based on his speech to the UN, he told the world that we are a nation of liars and spoiled brats.
I read all 8,220 words of his speech, twice, and failed to find a single incident of diplomacy, common sense or truth. For those without the stomach for it, let me present you with some rotten plums, and terse comments, in italics.
“We are the hottest country anywhere in the world and there is no other country even close.”
The hottest country in the world? This is presidential speech? What does it even mean?
“On our southern border, we have successfully repelled a colossal invasion. And for the last four months, and that's four months in a row, the number of illegal aliens admitted and entering our country has been zero.”
This is bullshit: a bald-faced lie.
“On the world stage, America is respected again like it has never been respected before.”

“In a period of just seven months, I have ended seven unendable wars. They said they were unendable. I ended seven wars.”

“It’s too bad that I had to do these things instead of the United Nations doing them. And sadly, in all cases, the United Nations did not even try to help in any of them. I ended seven wars, dealt with the leaders of each and every one of these countries, and never even received a phone call from the United Nations offering to help in finalizing the deal. All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that on the way up stopped right in the middle.”
Bullshit.
“These are the two things I got from the United Nations, a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter. Thank you very much.”

“Everyone says that I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for each one of these achievements.”
Everyone says? No one says that but you, Mr. Whiny-Boy Poopy Pants.
“As everyone knows, I have also been deeply engaged in seeking a ceasefire in Gaza.”
Bullshit. Name one person who knows that, and can prove it.
“In the event that Russia is not ready to make a deal to end the war [in Ukraine], then the United States is fully prepared to impose a very strong round of powerful tariffs, which would stop the bloodshed.”
Bullshit. You haven’t imposed a single tariff on Russia, Donnie, only on the rest of the world.
“Your countries are being ruined. The United Nations is funding an assault on Western countries and their borders. In 2024, the UN budgeted $372 million in cash assistance to support an estimated 624,000 migrants journeying into the United States.”
Bullshit. Tell us how the UN did that.
“The UN is supposed to stop invasions, not create them and not finance them.”
Bullshit. Tell us how the United Nations created and financed “invasions.”
I look at London where you have a terrible mayor, a terrible, terrible mayor and it's been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia law.”
Bullshit. Mayor Sadiq Khan is Muslim. So what? Khan responded through a spokesman: “We are not going to dignify his appalling and bigoted comments with a response.”
“Europe on the other hand, is a long way to go with many countries being on the brink of destruction because of the green energy agenda.”
Europe is “on the brink of destruction” because of windmills and solar panels? Bullshit.
“[Predictions of global warming] were made by stupid people that of course their country's fortunes and given those same countries, no chance for success. If you don't get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail. And I'm really good at predicting things.”
It’s all about you, Donnie, isn’t it?
“They actually said during the campaign, they had a hat, the best-selling hat. Trump was right about everything. And I don't say that in a braggadocious way, but it's true. I've been right about everything. And I'm telling you that if you don't get away from the green energy scam, your country is going to fail.”
But not in a braggadocious way.
“The carbon footprint is a hoax made up by people with evil intentions and they're heading down a path of total destruction.”
Scientists are evil people, right?
“The carbon footprint, which is nonsense by the way. It's nonsense. It's interesting. In the United States, we have still radicalized environmentalists and they want the factories to stop. Everything should stop. No more cows. We don't want cows anymore. I guess they want to kill all the cows.”
Are you out of your mind?
“I only do business with people I like.”
Just what we need in a president.
“Let us defend free speech and free expression. Let us protect religious liberty, including for the most persecuted religion on the planet today. It's called Christianity.”
