The Destination Missoula Sports Commission will host its second annual fundraising event, Celebrity Night in Missoula, on Wednesday, June 28 at Fort Missoula Regional Park.

Celebrity Night in Missoula raises funds for hospitality support at sporting events brought to the community by Destination Missoula and the Missoula Tourism Business Improvement District.

“This is a great chance for families and friends to meet some incredible Montana celebrities who have meant so much to this area, as well as the state of Montana,” said Jim O’Day, Destination Missoula Sports Commission Committee member and founder/CEO of O’Day Enterprises, LLC.

“At the same time, it gives the youth of our community a unique opportunity to interact with these wonderful people, and see and hear how their hard work allowed them to meet their goals – as well as the importance to give back to their community.

Celebrity Night in Missoula is hosting 25 celebrities such as Colt Anderson, Chase Reynolds, Jordan Tripp and many more hometown athletes who have close ties with Missoula. The event kicks off with a free Sports Clinic from 5:30-6:30 p.m., where youngsters of all ages can learn how to throw, punt and catch a football.

Basketball sessions are also available with former Lady Griz coach Robin Selvig, along with Brian Qvale, the starting center for the EWE Baskets Oldenburg. A punt, pass and kick contest will also take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. All who wish to compete in the following divisions are encouraged to come out to this event (boys and girls ages 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16 and up).

Each competitor gets one attempt to punt, kick and pass a football the furthest for accuracy. Each age division is competing for prizes signed by our celebrities in attendance. Cost to participate is $10. In addition to the competition, people of all ages have the unique opportunity to hear stories from the celebrities about their professional experiences.

The Master of Ceremonies is Charene Herera from 94.9 KYSS FM.

Autograph signing is from 7:30-8:30 p.m. to finish up this fun-filled evening. Bring your autograph poster for celebrities to sign. Posters can be picked up in advance at Missoula and Hamilton Opportunity Bank branches.
