With Missoula's summer concert season now in the books, Pollstar magazine named Logjam Presents one of the Top 100 Promoters worldwide based on third quarter ticket sales, placing the Montana-based promoter 83rd on the international list.

The magazine, an international trade publication focused on the concert industry, also ranked the Wilma and the Top Hat among the top-selling clubs worldwide by ticket volume.

“For a Missoula-based promoter that sells 100 percent of its tickets in Montana to be ranked in the top 100 promoters in the world is really amazing,” said Nick Checota, owner of Logjam Presents. “It's a testament to the unprecedented support Missoula, and Montana as a whole, has for live music.”

According to the publication, the Wilma ranked 63rd on the list of Top 100 Clubs by ticket sales in the third quarter, while the smaller Top Hat venue ranked 99th.

The KettleHouse Amphitheater, which opened last year, ranked 45th on the list of Top 50 Amphitheaters for third quarter ticket sales. The venue hosted 19 events and artists this summer, including Sheryl Crow, Alice Cooper, the Pixies and Jason Isbell, among others.

With Logjam Presents firmly on the concert map, Checota has turned his focus to new opportunities. Earlier this year, he discussed his push to design and construct a new 1,500-seat concert facility in Bozeman, which is slated to open next fall.

The company also secured the exclusive rights to produce up to eight music or comedy acts per year at Ogren Park in Missoula, starting next season. The facility can accommodate roughly 10,000 people.

Checota anticipates hosting three to five shows the first season and said the venue will complement the company's current array of venues.

“We're excited to continue to grow and bring more music to Montana,” Checota said. “We feel that growing our presence in Missoula, and expanding into the Bozeman market, will allow us to bring a larger variety of artists to the region.”
