The 2018 Missoula Marathon and Half Marathon are in the books, and hometown runner Mark Messmer is atop the list of 6,000 runners and walkers.

Messmer, who graduated from high school and college in Missoula, won the full marathon with a personal-best time of 2:27:53 on a bright, sunny and quickly warm Sunday morning.

In second place was Jason Delaney of Polson.

Keely Baker of Great Falls was the women’s marathon winner, finishing in 2:51:49.

The half marathon went to Fernando Cabada of Lakewood, Colorado, who crossed the Higgins Avenue Bridge and the finish line in 1:07:52.

Bigfork running sensation Makena Morley won the women’s half marathon with a time of 1:15:52.
