American Prairie’s permit to graze its bison on federal land has been revoked, according to a new proposed decision from the Bureau of Land Management.
Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum has “assumed jurisdiction” of three American Prairie grazing rights cases, according to a memo obtained by the Western Ag Network.

American Prairie has added just more than 1,400 acres of land, which includes scenic habitat situated both near and along the Missouri River, improving public access for boaters, floaters, anglers, and other river recreationalists.
American Prairie announced Thursday that 107 bison from its bison herds have found new homes with tribal nations in Montana, South Dakota and Washington.
Jamie Jonkel, wildlife management specialist with FWP, said bears lived in the area for eons before people came, and they’re trying to recolonize that country.
