Gov. Gianforte has signed an executive order to approve the allocation of additional funding to search efforts and to cover overtime costs for the officers working the case.

Members of the Missoula City Council joined the mayor on Monday in offering condolences to the town of Anaconda in the wake of last week's shooting.

A 45-year-old Anaconda man allegedly shot several people at a local bar, launching an ongoing manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

“DUFFY vs THE CATS” was the headline, describing the warring parties: Anaconda Prosecuting Attorney John H. Duffy versus a neighborhood covey of cats, a flock of felines, owned by Johnny Horn.

“The weather was perfect for an outdoor meeting,” wrote an Anaconda Standard newspaper reporter. “The platform next to the court house was elaborately decorated with flags, and electric lights were hung among the trees, making the scene an attractive one. The demonstration tonight was a splendid one and was one of the grandest in Missoula's political history.”

“I take you to be my lawfully wedded (husband/wife), to have and to hold ... (blah, blah, blah) ... until death do us part.” “Until death do us part?” Well, not so much for a rather large number of vow-utterers over the last century or more.
