The Montana GOP said the Democratic candidate for governor is illegally spending money on his wife’s communications company — but Democrat Ryan Busse alleges Gov. Greg Gianforte funneled $1 million to his campaign manager’s companies.

The Federal Election Commission requires candidates running for U.S. Senate or House to file a campaign finance report 12 days before the primary election in their state.
People running for state and local offices submitted financial reports to the Commissioner of Political Practices, outlining their contributions and expenditures between Jan. 1 and March 15.
