According to the National Weather Service Missoula Office, rain over the weekend brought more rain to the areas around Glacier National Park, the Bitterroot Mountains and the Flint Creek range than they normally get in a month or two.

The National Park Service announced this week it had entered into a new contract with Belton Chalets, Inc, the company that currently provides services at Glacier National Park’s iconic backcountry chalets.
In preparation for potential inclement weather, Glacier National Park is preparing for a temporary closure of the alpine sections of Going-to-the-Sun Road, the park said in a news release.
