After discovering that the Flathead National Forest has allowed an out-of-state corporation to make some changes to the Holland Lake Lodge property, three watchdog groups have warned the Forest Service that it’s breaking federal law.

Two years’ worth of emails indicate the Flathead National Forest has collaborated since late 2020 with the buyers of Holland Lake Lodge in a manner that breeds mistrust for some members of the public.
The plan is to preserve the lodge, the owner’s cabin and the barn and winterize the buildings so the facility can operate year-round. The old gift shop and cabins would be removed.
