Looking to make subtle tweaks to the city's sidewalk subsidy program, Public Works on Wednesday unveiled recommendations that would reduce a property owner's cost of replacing a sidewalk while expanding the program to a wider number of property types.
While there's little agreement yet on who should pay or how the city should fund costly sidewalk projects, most members of the Missoula City Council on Wednesday agreed that the current subsidy program deserves a closer look.
Disagreement over who should fund the project's sidewalks remained in play, as several properties within the project area will be assessed roughly 15% of the cost.
