The Montana Democratic Party writes, "Out-of-state multimillionaires Tim Sheehy and Greg Gianforte slashed their taxes while working Montanans got slapped with record-high property tax bills for 2023."
Several hundred people gathered in downtown Missoula on Monday night to engage in a town hall with the state's congressional delegation, where they hoped to discuss current events and concerns.
Members of Montana's congressional delegation praised President Donald Trump's national address on Tuesday night, though other voices weren't as supportive.
The bill contends that government “has strayed from the values and efficiency that citizens depend on” and fails to hold ineffective employees accountable.
Sheehy said those at the rally needed to support Trump and all down-ballot Republicans in order to win back the Senate and put Trump’s agenda in place should he win the presidency.
The U.S. Senate race in Montana was too early to call as of 1 a.m. Wednesday, but Republican Tim Sheehy led Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Jon Tester 52% to 46%.
Sheehy has insisted that a bullet in his arm is the result of “friendly fire” overseas, and that he didn’t report the incident to commanders for fears of getting in trouble or having to leave combat.
