In an effort to reduce costs and boost ridership, Mountain Line has proposed a number of route changes that could benefit some parts of Missoula and leave others without service.
An amendment added to a transportation bill in the House of Representatives could cut federal funding to transportation agencies that provide zero fare service, including Mountain Line in Missoula.
Since Missoula’s bus system reluctantly changed its policy in early October to allow passengers to carry guns, a frequent response from riders has been one of concern, according to the transit agency.
The Montana Shooting Sports Association plans on suing Mountain Line and maybe the City of Missoula after Oct. 1 for prohibiting guns on the bus, according to an email that association president Gary Marbut sent to association members on Saturday.
