Missoula County took a step back Wednesday from granting the American Legion permission to construct an indoor practice facility on land owned by the county, at least until questions of insurance, fees and other matters are resolved.

Authorities have released the name of the woman who was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott identified the woman as 46-year-old Michelle L. Andrews of Missoula County.

The Montana Highway Patrol trooper who shot multiple times last week in Evaro remains in extremely critical condition in a Salt Lake City hospital. Lindsey Palmer, the wife of Trooper Wade Palmer, released a statement Wednesday morning saying that her husband was shot three times in the head, face and neck, and “is stable but his condition is still considered extremely critical.”
